About Us
Holmans Dog Walking Fields is a safe and secure place to exercise your dogs on the edge of rural Heathfield. We currently offer 10 acres of space including a secure enclosure approximately 3 acres in size with 6 foot high fencing allowing you to exercise your dogs in peace as well as a larger 7 acre field with 4 foot high stock fencing. There are numerous reasons dog owners find this an attractive option, whether it’s a dog’s less than perfect recall, slightly anti social tendencies, or a myriad of other reasons. Whatever the reason, exclusive use of a secure enclosure can sometimes be the perfect option.
Surrounded by countryside and with views of the South Downs it’s an idyllic and picturesque area of outstanding natural beauty.
What to expect
With easy access off the A267 and our clear signage we hope that finding us shouldn’t be difficult. After booking one of the 3 options via our easy to use online booking system you will be sent 2 emails, one with the gate padlock code (please check junk folder if it doesn't come through). Once here you will need to use the padlock access code you received in your email to open the gate. Pull onto the parking area, shut the gate and you are off. The secure enclosure is a short walk up the field. We would recommend you use a lead to walk your dogs up to the secure enclosure if their recall isn't strong as the walkway also leads to The Big Field and the fencing is regular stock fencing. Once in the secure enclosure, close the gate and enjoy or if you have booked The Big Field then you have access to both the secure enclosure and the surrounding field. A path or areas might be mown to make walking around easier. You do not need to stick to these paths and are free to go anywhere within the enclosure. The booking slot covers your times on the whole site, not just your time in the field/enclosure so allow time for parking, putting on boots, towelling dogs dry and the like. Please don’t turn up before your slot and please be gone for the next person before your slot ends.
FAQs
How long do I get?
Slots are booked either by the hour or half hour. We ask that you dont arrive early and you are gone by the end of your hour. This needs to cover your entire time on site, not just in the enclosure, so parking, changing footwear, drying dogs and leaving all need to be completed within your time slot.
How many dogs can you walk at once?
Up to 6 dogs. If you wish to walk more than this please contact us to arrange
How many people can attend at one time?
We understand dog walking can be a social occasion but ask only 2 cars maximum per session.
Can I book the field for activities that aren't dog related?
No. Sorry if this seems unfair but our change of use conditions only allow dog walking/training.
How do I book?
We have an easy to use online booking system on this page. Select which length time slot you want, select which day and it will show you the times that are still available. After booking you will recieve 2 emails. One will contain the gate code and everything you need to know.
How secure is the fencing?
The secure enclosure is 6 foot high and a fine enough mesh that even the smallest breeds couldn't push through. The walkway up to the enclosure and The Big Field are 4 foot high stock fencing so not as secure for dogs that like to jump or miniature breeds that might try to escape.

Please ensure that you and your dog are fit and healthy before commencing the dog walking activity.
The ground might be slippery when wet and can be uneven. Please wear appropriate footwear.
Holmans Dog Walking Fields accept no liability for any injury to persons or animals resulting from use of the equipment or facilities.
You must pick up after your dog. We are providing eco friendly biodegradable dog poo bags. Please use the green tubs provided to dispose of dog poo only.
All dogs must be supervised whilst in the field.
All gates must be closed at all times.
You are responsible for your dog’s behaviour at all times.
Holmans Dog Walking Fields does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings left unattended on these premises.
All vehicles and contents are left at owners own risk.
Data storage/ GDPR
All information obtained by forms is strictly confidential in line with GDPR regulations. Our computers are password encrypted and your information will not be shared.
Your email address is requested in order to use our online booking system.
If you decide that you no longer wish to book with us and you would prefer that your data is not held, please contact us and we can arrange for this to be deleted from our files.
Your dog must be microchipped by law.
